Lyric’s Story

Lyric was born in 1998 to parents who loved her. Due to challenges beyond their control, including lupus and the need for hemodialysis, Lyric was placed in foster care and separated from her two siblings. In 2014, the children were reunited in our home and on June 23, 2016 they were adopted.

Prior to coming to us, Lyric had been served by many social service organizations. Her foster care was delivered through Child and Family Services, dialysis was received at Children’s Hospital of Buffalo three times weekly for years…. and, in July of 2015, while in our care, Lyric received a kidney transplant at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester. Bridges to Health worked with Lyric on transition to adulthood, and there was no shortage of additional organizations or humans who were involved over the years. This foundation will give back those who supported Lyric on her journey.

Lyric loved art and music… and her younger brother and sister.
